It’s easy to get caught up in brand perception and often times very difficult to break away from what you think you know about a brand. I used the word “think” intentionally, because what I thought I knew about Ozark Trail was not correct. Ozark Trail is proving to be a really solid competitor for outdoor products.
For these styles, it seems most people want their head at the door side and so they have a constraint for which way the tent is set up if the ground is not flat. On the other hand, accessing the tent from the middle, or on the long side, gives one more degree of freedom. Assuming a symmetrical tent, like the Ozark Trail, my head could be placed at either end and both options would feel equally comfortable. My shoulders did not chafe nor rub or irritate while walking and I did not get any bruising on my hips. I only walked about a mile away on a dirt trail to the showers but it was not a flat surface and the equiptment on my back was stable. Fast and easy to adjust and all buckles and webbing are in good quality. If you’re on the trail for several days, toilet paper and a cathole shovel are necessities. It can be used to carry a bear canister so long as the canister can squish into your gear as shown. Alternatively, a canister can also be carried standing vertically inside the pack. Our Airplane Travel Case is a useful addition for the jetsetting adventurer looking to blaze international trails. Slide your backpack inside to protect it when checking your backpack on to a plane. When you arrive, move the airplane case to the inside of your backpack and it doubles as a pack liner. The streamlined design carries comfortably on your shoulder, and you will hardly notice them there. It’s a simple design, but it’s a design that has served us for a long time, and there’s no reason the West Break won’t do the same. I have noticed that when I fill the bag up full or close to full it puts stress on the stitching. To resolve this issue, I do not fill it completely up with heavy stuff.
